hisamusingworld: to me this seems devilishly…clever of Mr. Rudd He effectively took the decision, and the power, out of Gillard’s hands. Depending on how this all pans out, he might seem in retrospect to be the mature one.  Need to talk to James, he loves these Labor party politics. He lives for this shit.

so, went to my first day of O-Week today,
the “welcome to uni” lecture was a bit same-old, but i guess i’m not REALLY a first year student, so I probably didn’t have to go, but I saw it as a dry run public transport wise.  I didn’t stay very long, partly (mainly) because of the heat. GOD. Brisbane’s climate is terrible. I love it that when searching for the site of the Brisbane Penal Colony, this place...

hypothetical children name list - (cont 2)
the list is ever growing:  Female:  - Remy (I LOVE THIS NAME)  - Celie (pronounced “Cee-Lee”)  - Harper - Veronica  - River - Illyria  - Titania (not anymore. when shortened, it becomes… unfortunate)  Male:  - Lysander - Aldous  - Jackson - Vincent - Rhodes (just heard it, and it’s awesome, and now on the list)

iPod Nano:
So my parents decided to swap their 2nd generation iPod Nano for a 6th generation iPod Nano - so as you’d probably expect, most of my afternoon was spent teaching those luddites to use it.  Now, i’ve always been a little… dismissive of the actual iPod line ever since I got an iPhone, seeing as the iPhone has the functionality of an iPod, with tonnes of extra stuff. It was like,...

actually crying with laughter
was reading a fanfic which was wonderfully written- the storyline was interesting and realistic and the characters were consistant with the ACTUAL canon characters -  then in the last paragraph, two of the characters turn out to be vampires, they then turn on the third character and kill them.  it was so inconsistant with the rest of the piece that i couldn’t help but laugh- and now i...

Amber Volakis (Anne Dudek) was AMAZING.
Seriously. Aside from Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) and Lisa Cuddy (Lisa Edelstien) she’s the best character to appear in the show. She was the most interesting of the “new bunch” of Doctors that came into the show after the 3rd season- but more than that, she was more interesting than Chase, Cameron and Foreman.  Her death was also equally amazing. The two-part series 4 finale...
